Janurary 16th, 2015 my girlfriends and I took a trip to NYC. We started our weekend by stopping by Carolines Comedy Club to watch Marlon and Shawn Wayans. We all grew up watching "In Living Color" so it was awesome to see them still at it after so many years. My crush on Marlon surprisingly still exists after so long.

January 17th, 2015 - We stopped by SNL to visit a few friends of mine that I work with on the show Portlandia, who also work on SNL when Portlandia isn't filming. The host was Kevin Hart, who is so talented and entertaining. The musical guest was Sia who I simply adore! Her voice is flawless and I love how her performances are not about her, but rather about the music and the art. It was an unforgettable night to say the least!

I've been a catliner girl since I was 16 (EXHIBIT A). I know my liners. I started with Almay because that's what my sister wore so naturally I copied her. I then graduated to MAC Black Track and used the angel brush for application. Recently I've been dabbling with felt pens. I've tried three different pens over the last year. Here are the results..

DIOR ART PEN: I love the shape of the felt tip. It gave a percise line. For the first two weeks I loved it. Then it started to dry out. You should be getting more than a couple weeks worth of liner. Especially for the price. $32.00

NARS EYELINER STYLO: Not for me. The felt tip wasn't percise enough. It was too stiff and fat. Its a good liner if you're looking for a thick cat eye and it comes in multiple colors which is a plus. $27.00

SEPHORA CLASSIC LINE: Gotta be honest...I'm not a huge fan of Sephora brand makeup..but this one takes the cake. The best felt liner yet! The tip is perfectly designed to create a classic cat eye. Because of the tapered felt tip It allows the abilty to adjust the thickness of the line. I've had it for three weeks and it's still kickin! Highly reccommended. And get this...its $14.00.

Today I woke up and had a realization. I work on one of the most popular shows on television right now. I get to work along side the most talented people in the enteratinment industry everyday I come to set. As a makeup artist in the film industry I have been exposed to beautiful, intriguing places that I wouldn't have otherwise. The people I meet and the personalites I encouter are rare. What other profession would provide these opportunities. I am eternally grateful.

It's not that I have never realized how lucky I am..but this morning was different. I decided I that I'm going to make the very best of it. SO..it starts here..with my first blog entry.

Last night was the Portlandia Season 5 premier in LA. Carrie and Fred both looked stunning! The theatre was packed with fans and stars and the reviews have been outstanding! Portlandia airs January 8th @10pm.  Just to peak your interest of whats to come watch the video of how the femenist bookstore ladies met! The best season so far. Promise.
